JOIN Supports the International Airport Development Project - Expansion, Renovation and Operation of the Roman Tmetuchl International Airport - in the Republic of Palau

Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (“JOIN”, headquartered in Tokyo, President & CEO: Takuma Hatano) has decided and received approval on March 19th, 2019 from the Minister of the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan to invest approximately JPY 220 million in the Expansion, Renovation and Operation of Roman Tmetuchl International Airport (the “Project”) together with Sojitz Corporation (Sojitz, headquartered in Tokyo, President & CEO: Masayoshi Fujimoto), Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd. (JATCO, headquartered in Tokyo, President: Nobuaki Yokota), and the Government of the Republic of Palau.

This project encompasses the expansion, renovation and operation of the Roman Tmetuchl International Airport, located in the State of Airai. The project will be jointly implemented with the Government of Palau and the Japanese consortium comprised of Sojitz, JATCO, and JOIN. 

As part of JOIN’s mission to promote Japanese infrastructure systems overseas, JOIN will support Japanese companies that are entering airport projects overseas. Through this project, we hope to contribute to the improvement of the operation at the Roman Tmetuchl International Airport and the further prosperity of the Republic of Palau.
