Memorandum of Cooperation with Argentina Investment & Trade Promotion Agency

On November 21, 2016, Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (JOIN, headquartered in Tokyo, President & CEO: Takuma Hatano) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (“MOC”) with Argentina Investment & Trade Promotion Agency (AITA, headquartered in Buenos Aires, Executive President: Juan M. Procaccini), an entity that works in coordination with the public sector mainly to promote investment in Argentina. The purpose of the signed MOC is to facilitate business and investment in transport and urban development projects in Argentina and Japan, and between actors from both countries.

The MOC between JOIN and AITA sets out the participants’ intent to share of information on potential infrastructure projects, as considered appropriate by the participants, and discuss these projects. Such projects might involve railways and transport systems, toll roads, port terminals, airport terminals, urban development, and logistics.

The ceremony for the signing of MOC was held in Buenos Aires, with the attendance by Mr. Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, and Mr. Macri, President of Argentine Republic.

Going forward, JOIN continuously intends to be involved in overseas transport and urban development projects from the early stages, cooperating with host governments and related parties, to facilitate Japanese companies through the creation of a business environment that encourages their participation in overseas infrastructure business
