Memorandum of Understanding with City of Yokohama

On March 26, 2021, Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (“JOIN”, headquartered in Tokyo, President & CEO: Tatsuhiko Takesada) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with City of Yokohama (“Yokohama”, Mayor: Fumiko Hayashi), the capital of Kanagawa Prefecture. The purpose of the signed MOU is to promote the global investments in projects for transportation and urban development sectors by Japanese companies.
 
This MOU is to confirm the cooperation by both parties as follows:
 
(1)         Exploration of effective utilization of technology and knowledge, possessed by City of Yokohama and its local industries, companies and institutions, in finding, developing and structuring projects, and
 
(2)         Cooperation with Y-PORT Center to promote investment in overseas transportation and urban development projects by Japanese companies especially for the local companies in Yokohama.
 
This memorandum is JOIN's first MOU with a local government.
 
JOIN will continue to cooperate with local governments, etc. to support and promote business investment in the field of global transportation and urban development projects by Japanese companies including local companies and SMEs.
 
* Platform for implementing international technical cooperation (Y-PORT project) through public-private partnerships promoted by City of Yokohama.
