Memorandum of Cooperation with the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada
On April 24, 2023, Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (“JOIN”, headquartered in Tokyo, President & CEO: Tatsuhiko Takesada) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (“MOC”) with the Province of Saskatchewan (“Saskatchewan”), Canada.
The purpose of this MOC is to build up good rapport with each other and discuss/facilitate potential projects from the early stage including transport and urban development projects in Saskatchewan.
Mr. Tatsuihiko Takesada, President and CEO, JOIN, said, “We are pleased to sign this MOC with the government of Saskatchewan today. We look forward to further strengthening our partnership with Saskatchewan and working together to encourage Japanese companies to participate in investment opportunities related to transport and urban development infrastructure in Saskatchewan from the upstream stage.”
Mr. Jeremy Harrison, Minister of Trade and Export Development, said, “This marks a positive step forward for Saskatchewan’s relationship with Japan. We have key resources that the world needs, and this is proof that international investors are interested in what we have to offer.”
JOIN continuously intends to be involved in the overseas transport and urban development projects from the early stages, cooperating with host governments and related parties, to facilitate Japanese companies through the creation of a business environment that encourages their participation in overseas projects.
