JOIN Supports the Urban Development Project - Amata Nakorn Project - in Thailand

Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (JOIN, headquartered in Tokyo, President & CEO: Takuma Hatano) received approval today from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism following its decision to invest JPY 0.6 billion to participate in the urban development project in Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate, Chonburi Province in Thailand jointly with Fujita Corporation (Fujita, headquartered in Tokyo, President & CEO: Yoji Okumura) and AMATA Corporation PCL in Thailand.

This project is located about 60km Southeast of Bangkok in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Area promoted by the Thai government. It is a project that constructs and manages a hotel in Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate where more than 450 Japanese companies are located. This project encompasses the development of a hotel and public facilities on about 21,000 square meters of land. This will be the first urban development project for Fujita in Thailand.

This project will be implemented by Japanese companies from development to operation; Fujita will design and construct and, Okura Nikko Hotel Management Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Tokyo, CEO: Marcel P. van Aelst), a subsidiary of Hotel Okura Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Tokyo, President: Toshihiro Ogita) will operate the hotel. With the technological skills that Japanese companies have cultivated, the project is expected to contribute to the improvement of the business and living environment of Japanese companies in the area of Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate through improvement of lodging and dining facilities and high quality services in line with international standards.
