4th Seminar on the Japanese Investments for Overseas Infrastructure

Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development ("JOIN") hosted the "4th Seminar on the Japanese Investments for Overseas Infrastructure" with the main theme of "Challenge for Modern Urban Development Project" on February 27, 2019. In organizing this seminar, JOIN received sponsorship from Mizuho bank, Mitsui Sumitomo Bank and Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, and back-up support from the Ministry of Land Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. More than 150 interested people attended the seminar and contributed to the success of the seminar.

Mr. Masashi Adachi (Parliamentary Secretary for Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Tourism) made the opening remark, and host speech from Mr. Takuma Hatano (President & CEO, JOIN), followed by Dr. Hiroto Izumi (Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan), Mr. Vivencio B. Dizon (CEO, BCDA), Mr. Teo Eng Cheong (CEO International, Surbana Jurong Group), Mr. Michael Widjaja (CEO, Sinar Mas Land), Mr. John Walker (Chairman, Macquarie Capital Asia) and Ms. Lena Ng (CIO, Amata Corporation). Afterwards, the above speakers, Mr. Liew Mun Leong (Chairman, Surbana Jurong Group and Chairman, Changi Airport Group) and Mr. James Knox (Partner for Real Estate and Urban Development, BCLP) participated in panel discussions regarding to “Challenges for Modern Urban Development and its Financing” lead by Mr. John Walker. At last, closing speech from Mr. Fumio Inagawa (Executive Managing Director, JOIN) made successful ending of the Seminar.
