Memorandum of Understanding with City of Kitakyushu, Japan


Signing Ceremony with Kitakyushu-City


On July 22, 2022, Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (“JOIN”) (headquartered in Tokyo, President & CEO: Tatsuhiko Takesada) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the City of Kitakyushu (“Kitakyushu”) (Mayor: Kenji Kitahashi), the ordinance-designated city of Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. The purpose of the signed MOU is to promote the global investments in projects for transportation and urban development by Japanese companies.

This MOU is to confirm the cooperation by both parties on the following items:
 

  1. Development and procurement of overseas business, especially in projects which contribute to enhancing the functions of urban areas such as waste disposal, clean energy, and water business.
 
  1. Consultation and sounding out with Japanese companies, foreign central and local governments, and foreign private companies in overseas business.
 
  1. Promotion of publicity of overseas business.

JOIN will continue to cooperate with the other local governments and so forth to support and promote business investment in the field of transportation and urban development in foreign countries by Japanese companies including local companies and small and medium companies.
