JOIN Supports Establishment of a Comprehensive Chemical Logistics Center in the U.S.

Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (JOIN) announces its decision and receipt of approval from the Minister of the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, to provide capital up to approximately US$ 47 million to establish a comprehensive chemical logistics center in the U.S., jointly with NRS CORPORATION (NRS), a Japanese leading chemical-logistics service company.

With the funding from NRS and JOIN, NRS LOGIOS AMERICA INC. will construct a storage warehouse in Casa Grande, south-central of Arizona, where demand is expected to experience strong growth for chemicals and hazardous materials from increased manufacturing of semiconductors and batteries. This project is NRS's first comprehensive logistics center outside of Japan.

NRS, with over 70 years of experience has established a robust reputation domestically and internationally, is a front runner amongst logistics companies specializing in chemicals and hazardous materials. The company is poised to capture the strong demand for chemical logistics in Arizona, where global semiconductor manufacturers are expanding their operations. Leveraging on its strength, NRS will provide comprehensive one-stop logistics services covering transportation, storage, distribution, and ISO tank container leasing. JOIN’s support to this project will boost NRS’s continued growth in its overseas business markets.

Furthermore, this safe and high-quality logistics service is expected to contribute to a substantial number of Japanese chemical suppliers to enter and deepen their business in the U.S. market. Through this project, JOIN encourages not only NRS's expansion but also serves to bolster Japanese companies' resilience in the global semiconductor and digital industry supply chain, enhancing their international competitiveness.

This investment is also expected to contribute to the objectives of the Japanese Government’s “Infrastructure System Overseas Promotion Strategy 2025”.
